This shows a deep ruby-crimson color and perfumed aromas of wild raspberries, black cherries, Damson plums, black currants, crushed roses, mulberry, sweet tobacco, violets and oriental incense. The flavors are round yet thick and structured, with layers of black and blue fruits that are marked by notes of licorice, Swiss chocolate, French roast and silty earth and minerals. The wine firms up a bit on the back with roasted berries and pecans, mocha, toffee and graphite, followed by a penetrating ripe tannin finish. 19/20 points.
