The 2014 Stateline Red is a bit of a "kitchen sink" blend containing Merlot, Cab Sauv, Malbec, Tempranillo, and a little bit of Petit Verdot! This wine is all about the fruit, with clean and well-ripened cherry, raspberry, and a touch of cassis. The mouth follows with red fruits, notes of ripe plum, and baking spices rounding it all out. The tannins are young and firm, and the acidity keeps it fresh and clean. We hope you enjoy this one as much as we do!
Review Of Washington Wines:
This is an attractive blend of 53% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 8% Tempranillo and 2% Petit Verdot. It shows a deep ruby color and rich, smoky aromas of blackberry, cherry, plum, black roses, mulberry, tobacco and incense. The medium bodied flavors are ripe and ample, yet focused, with notes of licorice, cola, roast coffee beans and loamy earth. The back picks up pressed berries, mocha and plum preserves, followed by a ripe moderate tannin and acid finish. 18/20 points.
