2014 Estate Malbec
This 100% Malbec starts off with a nose full of blueberry along with spicy aromas of white pepper, nutmeg, and a hint of vanilla. The baking spices continue in the mouth, coupled with dense blueberry nectar and even a little chocolate. The acidity and supple tannins balance out the fruit making this a definite crowd pleaser!
Review Of Washington Wines:
Inky purplish colored, this emits intoxicating aromas of wild blackberries, mountain blueberries and black currants, black roses, lavender, mulberry, dark tobacco, black violets and cracked pepper. On the palate, the black and blue fruit flavors are bold and penetrating, marked by black licorice, dark bittersweet chocolate, dark roast coffee and minerally earth. The intensity continues on the back with macerated berries, roasted nuts and pepper, followed by a lengthy sweet-dry tannin finish. The alcohol is on the edge at 15,3%, but is balanced by vivid fruit acids. This recalls the “black wine” of Cahors in France. 19/20 points.
