2004 Gifford Hirlinger Eighteen Below ($25; 70% cabernet sauvignon and 30% merlot) Good ruby-red. Plum, violet and chocolatey oak on the nose and palate. Nicely sweet and silky wine, finishing with fine-grained, mounting, slightly drying tannins and good lingering fruit.
